Fowey River Academy
As part of WE ARE SHINING, students from Fowey River Academy have worked on all aspects of production and creation of their film, ‘HELLO STRANGER’, collaborating with with Wildworks artists, and wider team.
Students developed the work through workshops in writing, costume design, make up, song and film making, all led by Professional artists currently working in these different disciplines.
Exploring their own local environment, its challenges and stories, the students have produced a story of a ‘creature’ that lands on the shore of Readymoney Beach. The creature encounters a community that at first are unsure of how to react to this stranger, and as events unfold, new bonds of friendship are challenged.
The premier event included interactive activities and exhibitions allowing the audience to understand some of the processes involve in the creation of the work. There was also live performance, talks from student designers and filmmakers – all leading up to the first ever showing of Hello Stranger – the resulting film.
