Open Circle is a Project involving an established community choir, The Tuesday Night Fun Club and a group of strangers seeking connection through circle singing, a community singing and sounding practice, spontaneous and evolving.
The project will create a safe space for improvisation with voice which is known to be deeply connecting. In the current social and political climate, where leaders appear to have lost sight of the needs of real people, we need to create connection more than ever. We believe in the power of improvisational singing. Creating something new in the now.
Our Intention is to run workshops involving writing and improvising (circle singing) that lead to two performances. The performances will have an element of spoken word, complete songs, improvised singing and a film with recorded soundtrack. All inspired by the creative writing and vocal recordings gathered at the workshops.
