The beautiful Cabinet curated by Jane Darke that starred in ‘The Enchanted Palace’ came back to Cornwall this summer. Re-imagined and Renamed ‘The Museum of Us’ – a living archive to provoke conversations and meditations on contemporary Cornish-ness.
We love objects that tell stories and we love Cornwall, so we were in our element!
We asked you this: If you had to choose one object that represented an aspect of Cornwall, or told a story about your relationship to Cornwall, what would it be? A piece of pyrites from the mine? The programme from the village panto? A surfing trophy? Your granny’s recipe book?
Throughout April and May we held a series of free tea parties in towns throughout Cornwall to collect treasure for the cabinet. These took place in Ladock, Constantine, Helston, Bude, Falmouth, St. Eval and Porthcothan – thanks to all of you who contributed to the collection!
