We are delighted to welcome Kyla Goodey as the new Creative Director of Wildworks.

Kyla has worked for Wildworks for 11 years and became Associate Director in 2023. She has over 25 years of experience specialising in landscape and site responsive theatre, touring productions, immersive experiences and community arts. She works across multidisciplined curation, collaborating closely with professional ensembles and co-creation with marginalised communities. Her work focuses on people and place through fostering deep local connection.

“I have experienced firsthand the power of this extraordinary company – true pioneers of landscape theatre and unforgettable visual storytelling. Today, we need this vital work more than ever. The company has a crucial opportunity to build a hopeful future by putting art, meaningful engagement, and the human story into the hearts of our communities. It will be a privilege to work with the Wildworks artistic community, opening its doors to grow a collaborative collective that celebrates its rich history and nurtures a dynamic future in this unique artform.”  – Kyla

Kyla Goodey is sitting on hay bales directing Wildwork's show 'The Kneebone Cadillac'. It's golden hour and Kyla is wearing a baseball cap and checkered fleece.

Kyla’s appointment follows a hugely successful summer directing Wildworks’ The Kneebone Cadillac, Carl Grose’s riotous comedy-drama staged at United Downs Raceway. The production brought together Wildwork’s commitment to place, community and ambitious outdoor theatre with Kyla’s distinctive energy, humour and collaborative approach.

Kyla has already begun shaping exciting work for 2027 and we can’t wait to share more with you.

Chair of the Board of Trustees, David Prior shares his excitement at this new chapter for Wildworks.

“Stepping into the Creative Director role carries enormous responsibility given the richness of Wildworks’ history, but the recruitment panel was hugely impressed by Kyla. Alongside her understanding of Cornwall and the company, it was the breadth of her experience, her generosity as a collaborator and the clarity of her vision for Wildworks’ future that really stood out. I’m excited to see how she builds on that extraordinary legacy.”

We hope you’ll join us in welcoming the incredible Kyla to the role!
