We Are Shining Scrapbook

A year of creativity, collaboration, and community.

We Are Shining was more than a project, it was a movement. A whirlwind of artistic expression that brought together diverse communities from across Cornwall, weaving together stories, voices, and experiences. From the cliffs of Pentire to the streets of Penzance, from railway platforms to candlelit chapels, we gathered, created, and celebrated what it means to be human.

With over 60 artists and practitioners, we shared meals and music, built kites and connections, explored what it means to belong, to remember, and to imagine.

Together, we brought stories to life:

Through My Eyes gave young people in Penzance a space to reimagine their hometown.

Kite Tales filled the sky with memories and messages to those we’ve lost.

Multi Story illuminated the journeys of Cornwall’s migrant communities.

Stranger Beasts and The Kneebone Cadillac reminded us of Cornwall’s wildness and resilience.

And so much more.

Now, as we look back on We Are Shining at the end of this chapter, we invite you to do the same. The full scrapbook, filled with stories, images, and moments from the past year, is available to download. A keepsake, a reflection, a celebration.
